The story Grace is writing focuses on an imaginary cross between herself and Cinderella. In it, Cinderella-Grace gets married, goes on her honeymoon, and has three children. Her writing seems to show how she wishes her life could be. When Grace’s mother admits that she had her daughter’s ability to have children surgically removed, what was your response? Did McFarlane’s review of the history impact your thinking? Do you think Grace really gave her consent?
“Grace has some surgery so she cannot get pregnant. She understands she cannot look after a baby, and she agrees this is the best thing to do.” P. 91-92
