The one thing that I notice got almost no attention in this story is the part that guardianship would play if this story were true. Many people believe that guardianship is necessary in all cases. How did guardianship affect Alicia’s ability to choose birth control for Chloe? What other decisions could Alicia make for Chloe because she had guardianship? What other options did Alicia and Margaret have?
