The Carrington family tragedy leaves a seventeen-year-old boy born with Down syndrome without parents and a fifty-year-old home in the heart of the California central valley, needing to be sold. Staging expert Catherine Vaughn and real estate agent Kimberly Scott, both young widows, team up to sell the home on behalf of the family estate, but items keep disappearing from the home. In good conscience, how can they sell the home to an unsuspecting buyer? Cat and Kimberly draw upon help and guidance from their supportive friends, including a local police officer and a grandfatherly gentleman to give life to old homes and new families. Safely Home is a story of friendship, courage, and responding to God's purpose in life.
Jill on Goodreads wrote:As other reviewers have indicated, this story set in the heart of Central California is a touching tale of friendship, renewal, faith and love. But the primary reason for giving it a 5-star rating is because of the way this simple story reminded me of the spiritual realm that is working around and through us, and the power of prayer to overcome the Enemy. A fun, pleasurable "read" that leads me to contemplate the application of biblical principles in everyday life is well-worth the investment!
Sweet story about friendship, second chances, listening to God's Will in your life, doing what is right for your community and with a touch of mystery thrown in. The reader is also treated to a look behind the scenes of design and the importance of color in staging homes for sale, or to improve your home for the enjoyment of family and friends. I hope this author writes more!
