“Mommy, Take My Hand and Hold It Tight” is an autobiography/memoir that I have written to my son, Nicholas. I describe my life-changing experiences as a mom and of raising five children with the youngest having Down syndrome. I share my love story and events of my life with its challenges and blessings, and how my faith has carried me throughout this journey. I am earnestly sending out a message about the contributions that special-needs children bring to the world and the shame of that troubling statistic that nine out of ten babies with Down syndrome that are diagnosed in the womb are aborted. Does the public know this is happening?
Simply a beautiful little memoir! From experiencing the terror at the epicenter of the Northridge Quake to driving past her local Columbine High School during the horrific infamous shootings, this prayerful mom tells a true story of resilience and even joy in the midst of a challenging life raising a young family in a troubled world. And her joy includes one very special young boy named Nick. Just wait until you meet him -- he will capture your heart!
I just spent a lovely afternoon immersed in her world of faith and hope. And it left me with a smile.
What a gift this book is!
