Olivia Owen, a busy, single, high-functioning, corporate executive officer, is not afraid to die a spinster for the sake of her career. But in an alternate reality world, bridged by the angel of her sister with Down syndrome, she meets Tom Medar, a dedicated, Croatian defense attorney who dreams of the right woman, but never has time to find her. Together, they foil an adulterous murder plot while discovering there’s room for love and family in their busy lives - but not before they are separated again.

When they awaken from their alternate world, will they be able to cross countries to find each other again?

Olivia, a career-driven woman, cannot imagine life as a wife and mother of two. Nor does she want to. Being tied down, with domestic responsibilities, is the last of her wishes. And so, when she wakes up on a flight to an alternate reality, the limits of her beliefs are tested. Slowly and very unwillingly she comes to accept the new reality of having a (hot) husband, two kiddos, and a life that, she realizes, is her deeply hidden desire, carefully tucked away under the guise of a tough business woman. But what happens when Olivia's alternate reality returns to being just "reality"? Will she be relieved to have returned to what she knows so well? Or will she search for that which never even existed?

Ms. Jelic does a great job of developing all her characters. Her descriptions are effortless and draw you into the story as if you were a part of it, looking on at the people around you, feeling their pain and desires, and discovering some hidden secrets I won't reveal here. I loved that the story came full circle. I would recommend this novel. It is a light and easy read, perfect for this summer.

Ms. Jelic has written a fascinating love story set in an alternate time from the one the heroine started in. The novel made me think of the show Quantum Leap, but with a lot more heart (and sex).

Olivia starts out as a cold promiscuous woman and transitions into a soft caring mother who ends up loving her alternate life more than the empty one she lives in her reality. Tom was the man of any woman’s dreams and I could see how Olivia fell in love with him.

The angel and Olivia’s sister bring an interesting dynamic to the story which I found chilling, to be honest. In the end Ms. Jelic threw me for a loop which I never expected even though I kept trying to figure out what the heck was going on with the alternate reality.

Ms. Jelic has done a great job telling a love story with mystery, culture, and time travel.
